Woohoo I’m 30! Oh boohoo I’m 30!

Well a lot of THINGS got done yesterday, which was good, but today needs to be the one that brings it all back in.

My t-shirt is sat at the post office to be collected which is good.

My beard has now lasted 30 days so that can be crossed off. Unless I accidently shave my face it’s done.

Sadly… ballooning was cancelled

The tickets were booked, we were all set to go, then last night got a call saying the weather looked bad so it was off and we could go another day. No amount of pleading could change it and no other balloons are going today either (something to do with knots, wind and clouds). But as it’s booked people are telling me a moral victory counts!

Lets see how the rest of the day goes.

Another THING – I got published!

It’s lame and didn’t work as planned, but I have something in a newspaper, printed! Back up publishing plan will still happen, but more about that tomorrow.

So what happened to the end of yesterday…

I managed to go the full week and not bite my nails.  Now to keep that up…

I also went for my Michelin Star meal at an Indian restaurant called Rasoi in Chelsea.  The meal was ok but all very pretentious.  Apparently the reason it’s called seafood biryani is because it has seafood in and the lamb biryani is called that because… it has lamb in! I learnt a thing or two there.

So thats 29 things, where’s number 30? I failed

I can’t juggle 3 balls.  I can do 2 fairly easily now and can even introduce a third in (harder than it sounds) but I can’t juggle 3 balls.

So the thirty days are over and I got to 29.66 THINGS done.  It was a good attempt (I think) with a few things going wrong along the way.  I also learnt some good lessons about getting on with things and having patience.

I know a question was; is there a punishment for not completing the 30 THINGS?

1. Surely the 30 THINGS was punishment enough – especially the cream crackers and beard

2. I am gonna have to learn the guitar and to juggle properly now I started.

Everytime I write this I wanna make the title ‘Day X in the Big Brother house’ in some sort of faux Geordie accent…

So another day and more things.

Following the craming of items on Sunday the last couple of days have been a bit lame.

Today has been a stormer so far!

First port of call get an autograph/photo of a famous person – done. Thanks to Alex Bray I am now the proud owner of a photo and autograph of Viacheslav Samodurov.

So from there on it was a fast train home, straight to the park to do 8 keepy-uppys.

Five hours later I finally managed to randomly hit body parts to the correct number:

It didn’t actually take that long, it just went to show that 15 mins practice or so all helped. The 8 were all under control (well 7 were and then 1 was a frantic scrabble).

Woohoo. More to come today I hope!

With the hobo beard now reaching its final stages; the next step was to start sleeping rough.

Ok less sleeping rough and more camping in the garden, but it’s only a short step from there to drinking meths under a bridge (especially as I already drink the lots of blue liquid).

So that’s camping in the garden for a night done.

Also designed my own t-shirt which with the expensive P&P I paid, best be here by Thursday!

Oysters are odd.

Went and found a place in Covent Garden that didn’t seem to phased by someone buying one oyster to eat at the bar.

Poured on lemon and down the hatch (after a bt of a chew).

Hmm odd and not really that exciting. Overpoweringly fishy.

Oh well another THING done!

Doing my best to get my grandad’s service history.

Red tape, silly forms and all sorts hindering the process. Made the best attempt I can (which people round me say can count). Hopefully now this will go somewhere!

Not bitten nails for 3 days (it’s hellish, you have to be an addict to understand).

Just wondering how I lost a day and was only at 15 items. Then noticed I was over midnight. Phew!

THINGS:day ratio is 0.57 atm. 4 days to do 15 items… thats a ratio of 3.75 items a day!

Jackpot!

A trip to the ISle of Wight today means many THINGS done.

Saw the ring-tailed lemur I adopted (Mangokey) which had lots of personality and was definately the best one there.

Then off ice skating, which I sucked at but reckon I could be good at if only I’d let go and use the force.

So status update:

A few more THINGS done and we’re on the home straight!

Did some painting last night and a masterpiece was produced. In years to come people will be wondering why no one thought to use this style. We may be in the Jephalite painting era.

Today I wandered over to Buckingham Palace. It was strangely packed and then I found out why; I turned up as a procession of guards was going past. So a few random snaps and an investigate later and it was back to work for a meeting.

I did feel a bit gipped that I couldn’t get a photo with a Grenadier Guard as they are tucked safely behind a fence (so not really guarding anything)

So the great cream cracker sweepstake went ahead today and now my jaw is killing me!

12 crackers in total (slightly lower than I hoped), meaning Cat walks away with the pot and the rest to goes to DEC (no he’s the short one)

Tree planted! That’s right, two things in one day!

I now have a nice cherry tree in my back garden (till Amy kills it). I have named it Jefftree.

It was going to live on the common, but then I worried scroaty southampton folk would kill it, so it would be safer at home with me.

Hello,

I’m back after a relaxing long weekend at Centre Parc. Started with a spa and ended with… a massage! A new THING done. Was a mix of torture and nice, a back, neck and shoulders massage which left me feeling good, but a bit beat up.

Also got my final thing in place. A bit lame in some peoples eyes, but probably the hardest – stop biting my nails for 7 days

It’s a horrible habit, I hate how my fingers look, but it’s a 27 year old habit now. Multiple attempts to coax, bribe, beat it out of me we’re done as a child, but it never worked. The rule is if I bite my nails even once that day; that day doesn’t count. Oh god oh god oh god!

I’m in danger of failing! But don’t worry, in a Dave Gorman last minute stylee I can bring this back. I just need to get my THINGS/Day ratio up from 0.4 to 2.2 – easy.

Woohoo finally a THING done.

I won’t go into too many details for fear of incriminating myself, but I managed to break 5 laws in one day and not get caught.
